Being Transformed, Through Fire & Water

This painting jumped right out at me because... well... it's just so gorgeous! And it carries an important message of transformation through God's fire and water. Be blessed!

Being Transformed, Through Fire & Water by Thelma Mudugu

Acrylic on Canvas

"And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit." (2 Corinthians 3:18 AMP)

"In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters."
(Genesis 1:1-2 AMP)

When God created the heavens and the earth from darkness, the Spirit of God hovered over the waters. It’s the image of the same Spirit which is working in and through our darkness, emptiness and void spaces, through a process of washing and burning as we dwell in His word. All this aiming to create the Christ in us which the Heavenly Father longs to see, seeing us one with Him.

Artist Thelma Mudugu - The Alabaster Arts, India

Thelma is a self-taught artist in the making, a wife and a proud mom of a teenage girl. Quitting a corporate job to be a stay-at-home mom gave her ample time to meditate on God’s word. This only made her hunger more for God’s love. It was through one of these journeys that the Holy Spirit drew her into a fresh revelation of the Father's love for her. She started to sketch and paint what the Lord laid on her heart, which has blessed others. It’s her desire to reflect the Father’s love for each of His children through her art which is a sweet aroma of worship. Hence the name ‘Alabaster Arts’ – a vessel containing sweet perfume poured out for Jesus (Matt. 26:7).
